Not only sushi is served on a circular conveyor built. Billed
as Taiwan¡¦s first circular conveyor belt dim-sum
restaurant, Mong-kok Dim Sum Express has opened in Hsimenting.
The proprietor has overcome the difficulty of keeping food
warm on the conveyor belt by developing steaming and other
warming techniques. This restaurant serves a large selection
of dim sum dishes 24 hours. Mong-Kok Dim Sum Express has invited
a famous Hong Kong chef who once worked in five-star hotels
to oversee the food preparation. Good choices include the
bamboo and shrimp dumplings and salmon dumplings (NT$80 per
order). The house specialty is the honeycomb-fried taro (NT$50
per order). The outer skin is crispy with a soft filling.
The taste is both sweet and salty. In addition to over 50
kinds of dim sum, this restaurant serves stir-fried dishes,
soups, desserts, rice, noodles, and congee (NT$80 to NT$320).
