Located in the Shida night market, a popular student hang
out, this restaurant has a simple, plain appearance. The attraction
here is the food and friendliness of the owner, a Korean-born
Chinese. The flavors are mostly authentic Korean, having been
somewhat refined to meet local tastes. Set meals range in
price from about NT$90 to NT$120. Choices include those that
are "stone-cooked" (NT$100), meaning dishes heated
in a stone pot over a fire and mixed with spicy kimchee. The
ginseng chicken (NT$120) is a must-try. The chicken is cooked
in ginseng soup, which adds both flavor and health benefits.
Soup made with beef bones is served free along with drinks
and Korean green bean noodles. When the temperature drops,
this is a good place to go for some warming Korean food.--By
