Enjoying mala (spicy) hot pot with friends is a great way
to spend a chilly winter¡¦s day. For the past
year or two, NT$300 all-you-can-eat mala hot pot has been
all the rage in Taipei, with many such restaurants popping
up all over the city. But, the key to a good hot pot is the
soup, and the owner of Tian Wai Tian, Mr. Yi, emphasizes that
only natural ingredients are used in his restaurant, including
a number of spices. There are more than seventy items available
for addition to the spicy hot pot broth, including shrimp
and crab. Remember that this is all-you-can-eat, so eat your
fill. This is the fourth Tian Wai Tian branch in the city.
Tian Wai Tian does not accept reservations. At peak hours,
there may be a wait, so it is suggested to visit Tian Wai
Tian between the hours of 2 pm and 5 pm.-By Josephine Lin
