Dolly's Pillbox, a four-person band,
is fresh therapy for the music industry. Though the
band is already two years old, "How Are You Today?"
is their first album. Their music resembles thick black
chocolate--sweet, yet bitter--as it soothes the soul
and reduces your blood pressure. The lead vocal sings
in an Indie-Pop style, murmuring the lyrics and expressing
the shyness and sadness of a little girl. The CD kicks
off with the creative "Sugar Boy", which jumps
into your ears with a ceremony-like bugle melody played
in video game style. Another song, "In Our Stillness",
projects a drifting kind of loss feeling. "Blah
Blah Blah" is composed with lots of clapping, and
the listeners may find hard not to follow. If you're
looking for a cure, "How Are You Today?" might
just be it. |
