Paste.
Great tunes, dumb name. A bi-monthly US based magazine
which, to quote Nick Lowe, is "mature music for
mature people." The lengthy CDs, 20+ tracks, highlight
known, sort of known, and unknown artists. Country-rock,
jazz-pop, country-blues and other hybrids, along with
traditional genres, make the Paste world go around. Every
CD has 3 and up to 6 songs that make me swoon., i.e.
my new favorite, Sondre Lerche, a clever Norwegian dude
making smart pop-rock music. Paste, the magazine, has
some unique recurring features. My favorite is the column
that analyzes the lyrics to a song. Other good stuff:
World Cinema movie reviews, small-press book reviews,
and did I mention a 23-track CD? All for under NT$400.
