Tom Waits and his wife Kathleen Brennan jointly wrote this work, which was based on Robert Wilson's play, "Alice In Wonderland". It has been described as Tom Waits' greatest lost work. The touching tunes arouse people's memories of Waits during the Blue Valentine and Closing Time period. Waits is a unique individual that no one has managed to surpass. To date, no one has been able to mimic his husky voice or his creative ability to combine ballads, blues, jazz, nursery rhymes, tango and Broadway music into his creations. |
