Transglobal Underground
'Rejoice, Rejoice'
by Krishnananda |
With an Acid Jazz/Electronica backbeat, Transglobal Underground
takes you to an exotic danceable world weaving vocals as diverse
as Natasha Atlas' beautiful Egyptian Arabic sound, Tuup's reggae
dub flavor, Coleridge's hip-hop funk, and Bapi Das Baul's Bengali
mystic nomadic singing.
And that is just the singing. A good part of this CD is instrumental
with electronic and acoustic experiments blending a host of exotic
and ordinary instruments, from blues harmonicas to Indian flutes
and sitars, with a heavy tech drum machine behind it all.
Well worth the listen, this group has been thrilling dance club-goers
in London and around the world.
