A young female writer announces at a book fair that her next book will be a novel about spirits and ghosts. The story begins when she starts writing this novel. As she deletes the first draft from her computer, strange things begin to happen. She sees bizarre illusions and inexplicable phenomena. Things she made up in her novel start appearing in reality, and she can no longer tell reality from fiction. Then she realizes this is just what she needs to write the novel, as she falls deeper and deeper into the world she has created.
