Unleash the Frogs of War

Costing $3.78 billion for research and $478,000 each to produce,
the Pentagon commissioned 40,000 of these "Mobile Amphibian
Demolition Devices" for mobile communications and use as roving
land mines. Carrying GPS systems, small cameras and communications
chips these miniature spies can track enemy troop movements over
varied terrains, under tree cover, in water and in other areas spy
satellites cannot reach without attracting undue attention or risking
combat soldiers' lives. Additionally, when enemy soldiers are spotted,
remote "Frog Handlers" can trigger the implanted explosive
devices, destroying everything in a six-foot radius. Sources say
that the Pentagon is considering parachuting thousands of these
devices into Baghdad as part of the effort to remove Iraqi President
Saddam Hussein.
