Taichung's best-known traditional Chinese teahouse recently opened its sixth and seventh branches in the city, giving residents even more opportunities to enjoy a quintessionally-Asian experience--traditionally prepared and served tea in a beautiful atmosphere of Chinese-style wooden rooms, passageways, ponds, lanterns and even live traditional music performances (Tues., Thurs., Sat., Sun. 8:30-9:30 pm).

The newest two branches are in Minchuan Road, not far from Chung Ming Road, and Chungteh 9th Road, in the general Morrison Academy area. In addition to teas and snacks, which average about NT$200 to NT$250 per person, there are seven kinds of decent rice set lunches and dinners, costing between NT$180 and NT$300. An English tea/meal menu makes things convenient.
