The made-to-order Souffle
(NT$220)
tastes best fresh out
of the oven and
goes even
better with a fruit smoothie
and some crushed pistachios.

This high-end handmade- cake shop behind SOGO Department Store is run by Agnes and patissier Lewis. They only use top-quality ingredients, such as imported French fruit puree and Isigny butter, and all are A.O.C. (appellation d'origine controlee) products. Moreover, every dessert in the store has a romantic, dreamy name that evokes a curiosity about their flavors.
The store's name comes from Agnes' two terriers. At first, she only wanted to make some desserts for her beloved pets but, as she made more and more delicious creations, she began to think about opening a cafe. Terrier Sweets's decor includes high ceilings, fresh-feeling white walls and wooden tables, chairs and flooring, plus some plants and herbs growing on the second-floor balcony. Diners are welcome to bring well-behaved pets.
Every dessert here is a unique, elaborately-made creation offered in limited quantities.
A hot/iced cafe latte or a pot of flower tea complete the perfect afternoon tea time. Customers can relax and enjoy this in Terrier Sweets' soothing, comfortable environment.

Right: The rounded Balcony at the Second Floor (NT$150) is a cake that
echoes the colors of plants on the shop's balcony. The marshmallow-
like honey cake is filled with pink peach mousse and layered with
white wine and kumquat jelly.
Left: Caramel Pound Cake (NT$180) is firm, but soft. The sweet-and-sour fragrance of
Pureness (NT$140) comes from melon
and cucumber ingredients.

Right: Romantic (NT$150) combines three cake flavors--
rose, lychee and raspberry--with a flour-free
chocolate cake. Its sweet-and-sour flavor is a bit
like the feeling of a romantic relationship.
Left: It takes about 30 minutes to make a Salty Pie (NT$140),
which includes onions, potatoes, bacon, mushrooms,
eggs and cheddar cheese. The combination of crispy
crust and smooth stuffing is very appetizing and it goes
well with White Peach Oolong Tea (NT$180).
