While Americans may be familiar with the joys of an ice-cold smoothie on a summer day, these fruity iced concoctions are relatively new to Taiwan. Booster Smoothie Cafe, a brightly-colored, friendly place, is the first of a new chain and offers very smooth smoothies, coming in flavors like Yellow Taxi (mango and banana), Aloha (pineapple and orange), Red Girl (strawberry, rasperry and blueberry), and Swatch (kiwi and melon). These cost NT$75 for a 'big' 12-ounce, or 'bigger' 16-ounce. Just as good are the single-fruit-flavor smoothies or the 'power munch' sherbets. There are also various coffees, teas and cakes. Booster is located near the busy intersection of Feng Chia and Fu Shing roads, near Feng Chia University's main gate.
