Coffee shops that feature a variety of books and magazines have become very popular in Taichung. Among, them Coffee Library is unique in that its mission is to increase cultural and artistic awareness of the community. Activities include an exhibition of Italian crystal, book signings and book club meetings. Among its many facilities is a meeting room and VIP room. The owner, Liao Shen-hsi, hired a well-known chef specializing in Italian cuisine. The menu includes dishes such as braised leg of lamb (NT$499), steamed perch (NT$390) and chicken in red wine (NT$390), all of which use home grown spices. In addition, there are nearly 50 kinds of 'health drinks.' So, this is one place where you can improve your health while improving your mind.
