This peaceful, attractive tea house is literally an oasis from the city and its pressures. The entrance is a mass of tropical greenery, which can also be found inside, where the white interiors, white wicker furniture, mellow music and tasteful decorations create a soothing atmosphere. The specialty here is imported fine Mariage Freres-brand French herbal teas. A wide variety of these teas--Linden Capentras Extra, Lavender Flower Super Blue, peppermint leaf, rose, thyme and so on--are sold for NT$160, coming in a large white pot with a couple of Italian-style cookies. There are 'fantasy teas' like butterscotch and more traditional teas--Darjeeling, Assam, Ceylon, etc.--plus some excellent coffees for NT$120 (espresso, ristretto, arpeggio, etc.), waffles, cookies, pizza toast and sandwiches. The tea house is within 100 meters of Taichung's famous tea street, Chingming 1rst Street.
