VISITOR RATINGS & REVIEWS
Named after a well-known
classical Chinese novel, Shui Wu Chuan is by far one of the biggest
and most striking "modern" teahouses in Taichung with
very tasteful use of modern and traditional, Western and Chinese
materials and themes, from glass to bamboo. There is an outdoor,
tree-covered wooden deck out back surrounded by a moat and high
bamboo walls and pleasant indoor seating on two floors. There
are a few dozen of the favorite hot and cold tea and other concoctions,
plus snacks, Hong Kong-style dim sum dishes, noodles, fried rice
and desserts. Guests simply find a table, check off items
on the paper menus (in Chinese only) and take them, together with
their table number, to the cashier for orders and payment.
Not to be missed, either, is Shui Wu Chuan's sister cafe, Paradise
Fish, just a block away.
