Located on the corner of Takuan and
Hsiang Shang roads just up the road from The Pig Pen, the Pottery
Garden Tea House is a beautiful establishment which combines traditional
Chinese/Japanese-style tea house architecture with a slightly-more
modern look. Day and night, patrons can enjoy wooden passage ways
and bridges which cross over carp ponds and take them to comfortable
and cozy enclosed pavilions where there are tables. Of note are
the many hanging wooden bird cages, containing a variety of birds.
Traditional teas are available for about NT$130 per person, along
with a large selection of snacks, from dried fruits to tofu and
nuts. During meal times, there are also about 10 choices -- pork,
beef, fish, chicken and so on -- for Chinese-style set meals. The
menus are in Chinese only but the staff can help you order.
