Taichung's third, and largest, Carrefour is now located along Chung Ching Road, not far from the Freeway. This is one of the French wholesale chain's "Green Stores", meaning that, technically, shoppers must sign up for a membership -- by providing a copy of their company's business license -- to purchase anything. However, "temporary" memberships are given to non-members who show up. The 4,000-ping store features 27,000 types of goods and parking for 800 cars and 300 motorcycles. Despite its size, it's surprisingly easy to miss -- heading west on Chung Ching Rd., it's just past the Freeway, after the large Ford sign on the right.
