After a lengthy hiatus, World Gym has returned to its original location in Taichung Central shopping center to provide residents in the central and southern parts of Taichung, as well as Dali and Taiping cities, with world-class fitness facilities. The center has undergone a facelift that has brightened up the decor and added some new touches, like a play room for childcare services. With about 1,400 pings of total space, the gym is slightly smaller than the World Gym Sogo II branch, but is almost the identical in terms of facilities and programs. The spacious work-out areas include plenty of machines, plus free weights and other features. One of the more unique items is a rock-climbing machine. There is also a sauna, steam room and hot tub for both men and women. Another nice touch is the fact that the ninth-floor location and wrap-around windows provides a scenic view of the city for gym users. Dozens of weekly sessions for Body Pump, Body Jam, Body Combat, spinning (cycling), Hip-Hop, Dance Aerobics, Taichi, yoga and other classes are held in two studios. Furthermore, on August 1 the gym will open a special yoga studio, refitted with improved lighting and flooring and focusing on yoga and pilates classes.
