Taiwanese and foreign customers alike are starting to take notice of this cozy, two-floor furniture store, which opened in the Canal District by the corner of Hua Mei West Street and Gung Yi Road. The store carries a good selection of attractive furniture and other items, imported from both Indonesia and China. From the former country comes folding teak deck chairs with cushions (for around NT$9,000), table sets and other items. There is antique and new, replica-antique Chinese furniture, including a variety of cabinets and shelves, chests, baskets, and traditional medicine drawer-style CD holders. Miscellaneous other items include silk embroidered bags, jewelry boxes and Japanese incense. Furniture can also be made to order. The owners say that prices are cheaper than most outside stores and there is a 15-percent discount for VIP customers--those who have made a one-time purchase of at least NT$20,000, or who pay a one-time fee of NT$1,500. VIP customers also are notified when new shipments come in, about every four to six weeks.
