To mark its eighth anniversary, Sogo Department Store is re-opening after a complete renovation that includes some significant changes and additions, mostly designed to target younger customers. This makeover, completed around October 7, includes the movement of the B1-level food court and all restaurants onto a completely-renovated 15th through 17th floors, which revolves around a nautical, boat-like theme. The 15th-floor International Food Bazaar features returning and new outlets, such as Three Mouthfuls BBQ Rice Balls and Rou Liou Yi Jin Ramen Noodles. The 16th floors hold six larger restaurants, including the all-new Peach Blossom Tea Shop and Mola Mola Creative Cuisine, and the 17th floor holds the Bullfight Restaurant. Other relocations include the B1 supermarket moving to the 13th floor; the designation of the seventh floor for high-end youth brand names, from Diesel to Levi's; and the 14th floor as a center for sports and recreation products, as well as special sales and culture events. Upscale boutiques for Chanel and Hermes are also moving over to the first floor from Sogo II Department Store, with other fashion names like Anna Sui scheduled to be added. To mark the re-opening and anniversary, Sogo will hold a wide range of special sales, floor shows and special events--including visits by entertainment stars--through October.
