The spartan beauty and simplicity of the past is conjured up by
antique furniture, arranged in the bright display windows at this
place. To the left, as you enter, is a basket filled with small
wood-cut window decorations (approx. 30 cm.); each piece is NT$400.
Wood pieces designed with intricately-winding curves are evocative
shadows of Chinese pavilions. These window pieces are created with
a variety of extraordinary, elegant patterns that draw patrons back
for an appreciation of the fine details. Circular window decorations
made of elm and marked by icicle designs are NT$5,800. There are
also extravagant elm hunting chairs, grandiose and conveniently
stackable (NT$38,000). Medicine chests designed in the Ming style,
with 20 to 30 small drawers, make excellent CD displays and cost
NT$9,800. Red shellac boxes are NT$2,200, and faux Ming-style shellac
carrying baskets are NT$1,500 to NT$2,500. Tables and chairs of
all shapes and sizes ensure that even those with Goldilock's fastidiousness
will find the perfect chair, suited to their height, comfort, and
individual style. All other items, besides special-sale pieces,
begin at 70 percent off. Find antique furniture on the first and
second floors; the third and fourth floors display home furnishings
for the study, living room and other areas. And, of course, customers
may order custom-made furniture designed in antique styles.
