Enter the front entrance of the National Museum of Natural Science
from Shi Tuen (Hsitun) Road and you'll see the Eslite Bookstore
on your right. You don' t need a museum entrance ticket to go into
the bookstore. Books are arranged by 11 subjects, with subject titles
on bookshelves. Subjects include nature, plants and animals and
anthropology, and there is a vast selection of science books, children'
s literature and stationery. Chinese and English selections are
offered and you can also find nature-themed CDs. The bookstore is
currently focusing on "the earth we live in" and it offers
20-centimeter globe lanterns, romantically glowing with geographic
details for NT$5,500. Medium-sized globe coin banks are around NT$400.
Least expensive are the inflatable globes which can be purchased
for NT$100. You can find books related to current museum exhibitions,
such as "Pandas" and "Genes", at the entrance
of the bookstore. Beginning on November 22, a special section of
Christmas cards will be offered to fit the Western calendar holiday
season. Naturally, the Science Museum branch offers a large selection
of nature-oriented publications. You can order books through the
bookstore and there is a three-to-seven-day delivery period.
