It's just getting started but this quiet community, not far from Honan and Taichung Kang roads, aims to replicate the success of Taichung's famous Chingming 1st Street, or "tea street".  Officially opened on February 10 with an outdoor flea market, the main street and a couple connecting ones feature about 100 shops with a pedestrian-only area.  Many of the shops are not open yet but those that are sell a variety of items and community organizers said that they plan to hold regular special events and eventually add outdoor cafes.  In addition to Shang Ming 2nd Street, the area includes Shang Jen Street and Shang Ming 3rd Street.  Heading southwest on Honan Road, turn right onto Shang An Road, section 1 at the last traffic light before Taichung Kang Rd. and turn right at the flashing yellow light onto Shang Jen Road.
