Some readers expressed disappointment with La Cite following its "soft opening" a few months ago. However, they may want to pay another visit, as the shopping center -- touted as Taiwan's first US-style outlet mall -- now has a more completed feel with more open stores, fountains and cafes, plus a newly-opened basement area. The attractive basement includes several stores, notably Young American Dream (selling Gap, Polo, Old Navy and Guess clothing for as cheap as NT$380), the Kansas Outlet Store (with a variety of Lee and Wrangler jeans and other clothing) and a sporting goods store with shoes and clothing. There is also a basement food court area and an Alexander Health Club branch. A large underground parking lot is accessed via Szuchuan Rd.
