Two is better than one. That is the attitude being taken by the owners of Taichung's Sogo Department Store, who are opening their second store a mere 700 meters, or five-minute walk, from their first very large store. The attractive new store, located almost opposite the Evergreen Laurel Hotel, is slightly smaller, with 14 shopping floors containing 7,000 pings of space, plus four basement levels of parking. The store focuses on the top brand international brand names for fashion, cosmetics, jewelry and other items. There is also a supermarket on B1 level, food court on B2 level and Kinokuniya Book Store on the 10th floor. The food court on the B2-level includes a Little Italy restaurant and Second Cup cafe.There are 300 parking spaces in the basement and store management says that they have secured 300 other spaces at nearby lots, including one on the corner of Harbor and Chung Ming South roads.
