Hot Bar Restaurant & Lounge

14, JingCheng 5th St, West Dist
(04) 2327-9168
Hours: 6 pm-2 am

This grill restaurant offers a new option for both dining and nightlife, featuring a lounge with Nordic-style decor, high chairs, a fireplace set into a red-brick wall, and pipelines running across the ceiling for a rugged, rustic vibe. Over 10 kinds of grilled kebabs (NT$80-220) include beef, grilled mackerel, shrimp, and Matsusaka pork. Most interesting are the eight distinctive sauces--like Thai, curry, garlic, and sesame--that diners are free to dip their food into for extra variety and flavor. A professional bartender from Taipei is on hand to mix up specialty cocktails according to your preference and mood. The creative variety includes a Mojito mixed with sake, perilla and kumquat for a fresh, unique, east-meets-west flavor. A Grape-Flavored Mojito (NT$230) is made with fresh grapes and mint leaves, in another special combo of refreshing sweet and sour flavors. --By Uvia Chang, translated by Anna Yang
