Sister to Orgasmo Bar on Taichung Port Road, this place makes its own unique impression and hits all the right notes as a near-perfect watering hole. Located closer to MinQuan and DaYa roads, Orgasmo Cafe oozes ambiance with its passionate red color theme, cushy first and second floor lounge areas, nice-looking bar and friendly staff, led by very personable manager Shaffer Hsu. One unusual element here is the afternoon opening hours, when patrons can enjoy Western/Eastern food from a menu that includes items like the Caesar Salad, Firestorm Burrito (NT$200), Brat(wurst) Kebabs (NT$200/3 sticks), Dry Noodles Taiwanese-Style (NT$120) and Salami Prosciutto Bagel (NT$180). At night, there's a separate, full menu of other kinds of snacks/light meals. --By Douglas Habecker, translated by Angel Pu

A. Orgasmo's long, red-lit bar is a magnet for customers and a great place to hang out by yourself or with friends, chatting with the bartenders.

B. The huge beer selection here is arguably the largest in the city and includes seven draft selections, from German Konig Ludwig Weisbier (NT$360 500ml) and Dunkel, to Warsteiner, Hoegaarden, Boddington's, Stella Artois (NT$280 500ml) and Abbot Ale. Bottled beers include nine types of Fullers (IPA, London Porter, etc.) from the UK, eight mostly-trappist Belgian beers, and various craft-brewed choices from UK microbrewery Brew Dog. For non-beer drinkers, the spirits and cocktails list is equally long.

ORGASMO CAFE C. Customers can enjoy a bit of semi-private relaxation in the deep-red sofa areas upstairs and downstairs.
