Orgasmo Cafe & Bar has expanded on its success with a larger, second branch situated on a quiet residential lane between JingCheng and ZhongMing South roads. The tastefully-decorated, cozy watering hole features a nice bar and upstairs and downstairs sofa areas. The long list of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks starts with an excellent on-tap beer selection of Hoegaarden from Belgium (NT$350 for 500cc), 1664 from France, Erdinger Weissbrau from Germany (NT$340 for 500cc) and Taichung's only Guinness draft (NT$260 for 500cc). From the Jagermeister tap also come the Jager Bomb (NT$220) and Jager Tubes (NT$360). Besides numerous single malt Scotch whiskies and other spirits, there are also many cocktails, from frozen daiquiris and martinis to lime margaritas. On the non-alcoholic side are hot Mariage Freres teas from France and Lavazza Italian-style coffees. The sizable food menu has a wide range of Western and Asian entrees and snacks. This includes Lemon Chicken Strips with fries and honey mustard sauce (NT$150); BBQ Pork Back Ribs; USDA Choice Grilled Beef Skewers (NT$180 for 3); Hakka Salty Pork; and all-natural Italian Prosciutto (NT$220). --By Douglas Habecker, translated by Naomi Lai A. Orgasmo's claim to offer the "best Mojito in Taiwan" is no idle boast, as this mix of rum, lime, peppermint, sugar and soda (NT$240) is indeed a wonderfully-refreshing, tropical concoction. Another exceptional Latin American cocktail, the Caipirinha (NT$230) is made with locally hard-to-find Brazilian fermented sugar cane liquor, plus limes and brown sugar. B. The more private second floor is divided into several comfortable sofa areas which can be used by parties for a minimum NT$1,000-2,000 charge. C. Orgasmo 2's attractive, two-floor building can be accessed from JingCheng Road, or the alley adjacent to the ZhongMing South Road gas station.
