Cocktail: Golden Melon
Liquid Lounge has been a lasting success among Taichung's
lounge bars, with a suitably swanky atmosphere and a good
mix of lounge/chill-out/chill house music. The drinks are
also a draw, thanks to the skills of head bartender Elsa Yang,
who can be found mixing up a wide range alcoholic concoctions
on any given night.
Elsa, who has about five years of experience that includes
stints at In House and Bobo, this month introduces us to a
cocktail that is unique to Liquid Lounge and was invented
there by one of her bartending predecessors, Jack. The Golden
Melon is an attractive-looking drink with tropical coconut
and melon flavors, together with a medium-sized alcoholic
punch that makes it slightly more appealing for male patrons,
says Elsa.

INGREDIENTS:
* Jim Beam bourbon whiskey 1 ounce
* Blue Curacao liqueur 2/3 ounce
* Malibu coconut-flavored white rum 2/3 ounce
* 1 slice of honeydew melon
* Sugar and lemon juice 2-3 tablespoons
* Ice cubes or crushed ice
DIRECTIONS:
Put all ingredients into a blender and blend until fully
mixed. Pour into a standard-sized champagne flute and
garnish with a honeydew melon rind.
