Although it's already January, this month is still a good time for people of this city learn about a trendy little hangout called December Music Bar. The establishment just recently celebrated its first anniversary in September and owner Jasmine is thrilled. Asked why she decided to open a bar, Jasmine quickly answers that it is a way for her to create a place that welcomes not only Taichung residents, but residents of every city and county in Taiwan. No matter where you come from, December Music Bar is there to either welcome your company, or give you directions around town and wish you a happy journey.

Those who opt to stick around will find their experience quite enjoyable. With two floors of seating and 15 different beers from which to choose (not to mention MANY other drinks), customers may find themselves faced with the same problem the machines had in The Matrix films: choice. Luckily, there won't be any of those pesky machines trying to prevent you from making choices here. On Mondays, all drinks are 30 percent off. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, happy hour is from 7 to 9 p.m., and all beers (NT$120-NT$200) are buy-1-get-1-free. Or try Burning Beginning, December's own brand of cocktail. To reveal the contents of this drink would be to spoil the surprise, so the best advice is to just go and try it for yourself.

As an added bonus, anyone with the munchies is welcome to bring in outside food. The owner will also gladly order pizza, Japanese, or Chinese food for hungry patrons. So what are you waiting for? An invitation? Everyone is invited! If it's after 7 p.m., head right over to December Music Bar.
