Situated in an alleyway behind the SOGO II building (and World Gym) and next to Circle Bar, Dimple Bar allows you to relax, have a few drinks and enjoy good conversation. The interior is rather quaint and warm--not as loud or colorful as most other bars in Taichung. You won't even find a stage or dance floor here, but there are a lot of things that make you feel at home--the sofas, tables and chairs, the fuzzy pillows, big windows with a nice view of the outside, and soft lighting. Curtains separate the bar from the lounge and the wall-mounted TV allows customers to watch baseball games and other sporting events. On the second floor, there is also a comfortable lounge area for 10 to 20 people, a good place to sit and talk, meet friends and have a few laughs. The owner has a good selection of drinks: beer, mixed drinks, and spirits, including vodka, whiskey, brandy. One favorite is the Macallan's 12-year Scotch (NT$3,000). There are also various cocktails (NT$150-300). Snacks and side dishes include Three Cups Chicken, Roasted Fish, Goose, and Fried Vegetables, all with a home-made taste. --By Uvia Chang Translated by John Johnson
