       This cozy new lounge bar is not far from the Taichung Gang/Dadun roads intersection. The atmosphere is very lounge-ish, with very dark interior, 14 tables with comfortable sofas and chairs, and a small bar with attached DJ booth, where house DJ Rex plays a fairly eclectic mix of music--chillout, lounge, backbeat, hip hop, even some rock--every night. As Calvin notes, a unique touch is Escape's extra-long list of fine red wines from around the world, about 40 all together, from a NT$1,300 French Merlot to a NT$13,000 1999 Opus One. Other fine labels include Chateau Margaux, Chateau Grand Vin De Latour, and Chateau Lafite Rothschild. There are also white wines, 13 single-malt scotches, 10 champagnes, cocktails (NT$180-280), and quality beers (NT$180-220) like Warsteiner, Guinness, Boddington's, and Hoegaarden. Dining services with four NT$360 main courses--like Roast Duck with Red Wine and Orange Sauce, or Pork Rolls Stuffed with Apple, Mustard and Cider Vinegar--available until 10 p.m. Other appetizers and light meals, from the NT$220 Escape Hamburger to the NT$100 Smoked Duck Breast Pizza (6-inch), are available all hours. There is a NT$300 minimum per person bill and customers may inquire about memberships which entitle them to free Sunday barbecues and other specials. Regular parties with fun themes will also be open to everyone.
