As its name implies, The Riverside is located along the Hua Mei Road canal a few meters from the Pokuan Road intersection and bridge. British proprietor and veteran Taichung resident Simon has created a friendly, relaxing little bar that already has become a popular hang-out for patrons. Drinks are very reasonably-priced with NT$90 bottled beers, NT$80 draft beer, NT$100 for mixed drinks and nothing over NT$120. In January, Simon is also planning on adding simple bar-type food to his menu, including curries, chilies, vegetarian dishes, salads, baked potatoes and so on. There will also be monthly parties and there are plans for regular mellow, acoustic live performances.
