Taichung's newest five-star hotel will be celebrating its Grand Opening on May 3, after its initial soft-opening period. For local diners, the good news is that a host of new restaurants will also open on this date. More, specific information will be provided in the June "What's New". In the meantime, a run-down of what's new at the hotel: The Asian Court (12F) provides an Asian-style setting and all-day menu with Taiwanese breakfast, lunch noodle and late-night super buffets. Open 6-1 am. Romana Restaurant Italiano (12F) has fresh pasta, pizza, Italian buffet with salad and dessert bar. The Teppan & Sushi Bar (12F) includes teppanyaki and a sushi bar with set lunch boxes. Formosa Garden (15F) combines traditional Cantonese and Taiwanese specialties. The Wine and Cigar Bar (12F) will feature fine wines from a walk-in cellar and imported cigars. Open 12 noon to 1 am.
