Finga's keeps a fairly low profile along JingCheng Road but is a treasure trove of hard-to-find foods. Besides its bakery, with a fair array of bread choices, there's a deli and other various imported foods and condiments for sale. The dining menu features a selection of dishes, ranging from salads like the Chicken Caesar (NT$295/395) to pasta and pizza (NT$275-310). Among the many sandwiches (NT$160-240), the Club is one of the most popular and comes well-stacked with bacon, egg, ham, tomatoes, lettuce, onions and a touch of mayo. The Cajun Grilled Chicken is also a great choice, topped with savory chicken breast, ripe avocado and crisp vegetables. All these options make Finga's is a great place for a light meal. --Daniel White

This fairly new delicatessen has a great selection of sandwiches, pastas and soups, plus a frequently-updated list of special menu items. Soups (NT$110-135) come with a baguette. Each day, the owners offer several sandwiches from a big master menu of 40-plus sandwiches (all NT$180), served on soft fresh bread with crisp vegetables and quality ingredients. A good example is the delectable Roast Beef Sandwich, with a creamy jalapeno mayonnaise that added a very enjoyable punch to the perfectly blended flavors. Diners will be hard pressed to find better-tasting sandwiches anywhere on the island. --Daniel White
