This sizable 144-seat, magic-themed restaurant offers a variety of mid-priced a la carte lunch/dinner entrees, prepared by head chef Daniel Yang. Besides pasta, risotto and pizzas (available all day), there are salads, appetizers, coffees, teas, and a long wine and cocktail list. --By Douglas Habecker, translated by Erica Lin

With soft, chewy crust, the Margarita Pizza is the favorite among 10 12-inch Roma-style pizzas (NT$260-380), all made in a wood-burning oven. Among a dozen pasta choices, the Mixed Seafood Pasta (NT$350) is a stand-out with scallops, clams, mussels, fish fillets, shrimp and other seafood mixed in a made-from-scratch tomato-basil sauce.
B.
Wild Mushroom Risotto with Truffle Oil (NT$280) is a creamy delight made with five kinds of mushrooms, imported Italian rice and white-truffle oil, topped with black truffles. An East-meets-West culinary fusion, the Sicilian Sea Bass (NT$440) is especially good with sparkling white wine.

Located opposite Taichung's soon-to-open IKEA store, Casa Mago's purple color theme and geometric patterns are impossible to miss.
