The Londoner Sports Cafe

After a brief closure, The Londoner has been completely reincarnated as a shiny sports cafe/restaurant in a new location about 100 meters from the WenXin-ChongDe roads intersection. Owners Morne and Lily have taken a completely fresh direction with this bright, colorful place decorated in vibrant colors, with an open kitchen and seating for about 60 inside along a glass wall and at small tables and booths, as well outside tables. As before, sports fans will be happy with a full range of live satellite showings of international and local games on three large TVs. Londoner's broad range of Western cuisine has been upgraded with a new menu (in use from Sept. 17), starting with 12 breakfast sets (8 a.m.-3 p.m.), from the NT$149 Healthy Breakfast to the hearty NT$399 T-Bone Grill Breakfast. The all-day food variety continues with burgers, meat pies, foot-long hot dogs, salads, and lunch and dinner boxes that include new vegetarian items. A. The Londoner Sports Cafe is hard to miss with its flashy Union Jack flag decor and colors.
B. South African favorites like Vetkoek remain on the menu as options on the all-day NT$199 "Pick & Pay" sets, which allows diners to pick a "base", a filling, side dish and drink. In the same price range are various pita pizzas and burritos and wraps.
 C. On Saturdays/Sundays only (11 a.m.-2 p.m., 5-8 p.m.) Londoner offers a variety of NT$450 steak and BBQ options, from "Surf & Turf" to Monster Kebabs, served with bread, salad and drink.
