Not a beer drinker? Reichburg may change your mind. Opening in early October, it serves a locally-brewed, authentic German-style beer stored in vacuum beer tanks at 1.2-3 degrees Celsius to retain flavor and quality. This beer is designed to appeal to the ladies with its lighter, fruitier flavors. From the outside, this place resembles a typical German beer house with wooden tables and benches. However, the interior bubbles with youthful ambiance, as young cute attendants rush in and out the dining area, decorated with chic blue walls. The menu is filled with almost 100 different typical Taiwanese and Cantonese food options, including the Crunchy Intestines (NT$238), Sakura Shrimp (NT$168) and the various kebabs (NT$68 for two sticks). For larger portions, try the Typhoon Shelter-Style Fish (NT$188), Crisp Chicken with Herbs (NT$488), Garlic Pork Chop (NT$168) and Chinese Sausage Rice (NT$198). There are also other vegetable, chicken, beef, lamb, pork, seafood, hotpot and rice dishes. --Written and translated by Naomi Lai
