This restaurant's name is French for "a wonderful holiday", while its Chinese name slightly resembles that of its sister restaurant, Wein Restaurant & Lounge. Not surprisingly, it offers a great selection of fine French cuisine, created with exquisite, quality ingredients. Complementing a pure white exterior and spacious outside grass lawn, the interior is decorated in a simple black and white theme that goes well with the artistic flair and beautiful presentation of the dishes.

The staff have given an interesting nickname--"the Duck Trio"--to a La Fete's duck entree. As the menu notes, this whole-duck dish (NT$750 a la carte) is a combination of Fried Duck Breast, Duck Leg Confit, Foie Gras and Port Sauce. The Duck Leg Confit is prepared by soaking the meat for four hours prior to cooking, then placing it inside the oven at 60 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Upon serving, it has a crispy texture and the meat exudes a pleasant nutty aroma. The Foie Gras and Port Sauce combination is topped with figs for a smooth, mild flavor.

If you would like to try these exquisite, delicious dishes as a set meal, try the La Fete (Paris) Dinner Set Menu (NT$1,680), which offers a choice from four entrees. The set starts with a choice from two warm appetizers, followed by the La Fete Special & Fried Sweet Shrimp with Garlic Herb Risotto. Served with plates and cutlery imported from Dubai, the Crab Meatballs, Ham & Prawn Roll and Grilled Hokkaido Scallops with French-style Calamari Sea Salt are even tastier with the help of beautiful presentation. The risotto dish is also heavenly mixed with tender, juicy shrimp.

The La Fete (Chiou Shi) Dinner Set (NT$1,180) comes with a tasty salad dish--the Asparagus, Poached Egg with Parma Ham, Mozzarella Cheese and Mustard Vinaigrette. The purple and red circle on the outer rim of the plate is created out of deep-fried yam and taro slices, and diners can get a sneak peek at the way chefs finish off their masterpiece dish in the open-style kitchen. Another great salad dish in this dinner set is the Deep-fried Mozzarella Cheese and Tomato Salad, a simple yet colorful dish with lots of flavors. There is also a variety of canape dishes in the La Fete (Chiou Shi) Dinner Set and cold dishes include Grilled Hokkaido Scallops, Frozen Foie Gras and Tomato in Vinaigrette, and Pickled Olives. To finish off this wholesome, hearty meal, try the chef's specialty souffle dessert.

La Fete makes fine dining easy, thanks to the La Fete Lunch Set (NT$980) or the La Fete Set Meal varieties (NT$2,380), with a total of five poultry choices. Also available is the La Fete Vegetarian Set (NT$980), with choices like noodles and rice.
