Located on busy Huamei Street amongst a big line-up of bar and clubs, this new restaurant features a European-style facade. Inside and outside, Lusso has a nightclub-like ambiance. However, when you browse through the menu, you'll find that they offer a good range of American-style food, with a selection that includes submarine sandwiches, burgers, bagels, toasted items and other snacks. This means that you can enjoy the rather unique experience of sitting on a silky lounge sofa, with a luxurious chandelier overhead, as you're served a very large beef burger at your table and sip on an icy glass of latte--during the daytime instead of night. --By Catherine Liu, translated by Ann Lee

A. The 16-ounce Beef Burger (NT$185) is made with a steak patty, instead of hamburger. The huge portion of juicy meat, along with some fresh tomato slices, lettuce and sauce, will easily fill you up.

B. Deep-fried Golden Onion Rings (NT$80)--This simple dish offers a crispy texture and is served with homemade cheese dip for a unique treat. It also comes in a sizable portion that makes it enough for a filling snack.
