Yi Fan is a brightly-lit, spacious eatery that offers luxurious, exquisite Japanese kaiseki-style cuisine at affordable prices. Most of the choices you see on the menu come in set meals that contain a main dish, some appetizers, salad and soup; they range from NT$150 to NT$240. The chef's recommendations include the Grilled Tender Beef with Rice (NT$200), which was thinly sliced beef that is grilled, seasoned with an appetizing sauce and served with plain rice. The Scallop and Shrimp Fried Rice (NT$180), another popular dish, comes with garlic and butter scallops, so be sure to try it out. The generously portioned Combination Rice Meal (NT$240) includes three types of sashimi with salmon roe, mushrooms, and fried eggs. With set meals, pay an extra NT$59 to receive a sushi handroll, steamed egg, or iced drink. Dine at Yi Fan before the end of November and receive a NT$100 coupon for every NT$500 you spend. --By Niang Chen, translated by Ann Lee
