People living in the Tunghai University/Science Park/Art Street area now have a close, convenient Indian dining option, thanks the opening of this unassuming, little, 25-seat eatery. Owner Anna Yueh has a connection to Indian cooking through her Indian Tunghai professor husband and other mentors, and directly imports her spices and ingredients from that country. The menu is very straightforward: For lunch, there is a choice of six curries (chicken, fish, beef, shrimp, etc., NT$180-200), plus a NT$250 curry mix option, which all come with a vegetable and rice or bread--usually chapati, with nan by special request. For NT$250, dinner has the same choices, with an additional vegetable, both rice and bread, and a sweet dish like rice pudding. The all-you-can-eat lunch (NT$350) and dinner (NT$500) allows you to order as many sets as you want, one at a time as you finish them (Anna says the record so far is four sets in one sitting). There is also a NT$90 teatime (3:30-5:30 p.m.) special with a special-blend spice tea, a sweet dish, two breads and a curry dish. Delivery to nearby areas is available, as is take-out (with 20-30% discounts) and frozen meals, which they'll teach you how to prepare at home. To get there, go up Art Street till it ends at DongHai Street, turn left and it's about 200 meters down on the left. --By Douglas Habecker, translated by Ann Lee
