SPOON
48, JingMing Rd

Those who know about Spoon already agree that it feels like home. Maybe it's the home-style milkshakes or the kick-off-your-shoes atmosphere that helps take your mind off of your surroundings and concentrate on the food in front of you, which is quite easy because of Spoon's attention to quality and presentation. Among the many salads on the menu, all large enough to eat as dinner alone, one that stands out is the Rosemary Baked Chicken Salad (NT$140), with tender and juicy strips of chicken resting atop a mountain of fresh greens. Another surprise on the menu, comprised mainly of Western classics like Bacon Burgers and Fries (NT$180), Chicken Wings (NT$130) and rice dinners (NT$160), is the Hawaiian Ham Steak and Pineapple Sandwich and Fries (NT$160). This gigantic meal is so delicious you may want to start putting pineapple on your dinner every night. Spoon also has six types of pasta (NT$140-160), weekend brunch with great French Toast (NT$160-180), cocktails, beer and wireless Internet. --By Matthew Flint, translated by Ann Lee
