A continuous flow of good service can expected at Kitazawa Sukiyaki because of the owner's philosophy. "I am my own biggest competitor!" Mr. Zeng says, as he insists on satisfying his customers by offering the best price, quality and service. Kitazawa Sukiyaki has a fun serving style, which is similar to Hong Kong-style tea restaurants. At this establishment, servers motor trolleys around the restaurant, selling dishes directly to customers. The trolleys carry elaborate sides which include fresh, seasonal vegetables, bean curd rolls, and Japanese glutinous rice. Lunch is NT$299 per person, dinner and weekends are all-you-can-eat for NT$399. Four types of meat are available for a main course-Angus beef, beef spareribs, low-fat beef, and pork. Mixing different types of meat is recommended. With a group of three or more, you will receive a complimentary Miso Soup Hot Pot. If the miso doesn't warm you, perhaps the decor might-bright, powdery orange and yellow, Japanese-style papers—will. --By Niang Chen, translated by Ann Lee
