With 16 years worth of great reputation in Taipei, famous Thai restaurant Thai Town Cuisine has finally opened its first Taichung branch in Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Department Store. After an exhausting day of shopping, this exotic dining spot is the best place to unwind and assuage those hunger pains. The vivid pink tiles and mural compliment the simple designs of the tables and wooden floor. Apart from this comfortable setting, the menu presents 55 authentic dishes including appetizers, salads, seafood, soup, rice/noodle dishes and desserts. To name a few, the Moon Shrimp Pancake (NT$300), made with quality shrimp, is about one centimeter thick, crispy and juicy. The Steamed Seabass in Lemon Sauce (NT$450) uses fish that weigh between 8.5 and 10.5 grams, delivered from Taipei on the same day so that freshness is guaranteed. Curry Chicken, Spicy & Sour Shrimp Soup (Tom Yom Kum) and Spicy Greens with Shrimp Paste are all dishes top-rated by customers. The restaurant is promoting a set menu for three to six people at NT$399 per person--a great opportunity to enjoy good food and ambiance without spending too much. --By Ann Li, translated by Ann Lee
