Local Taiwanese fashion company Ma Tong's striking monkey logo has been well received nationally. Now, to cater to a growing number of fans, the firm is opening its first Monkey Party Complex Restaurant on Idee Department Store's seventh floor. Not surprisingly, monkeys are the main theme in this place. Red, yellow and brown colors have been adopted to create a lively, relaxing atmosphere. This place is great for parties, gatherings or just for enjoying a simple set meal. The chef prepares tasty yet classic-looking baked goods using French methods. In addition, the amount of the sugar used in the bakery is 40 percent less than elsewhere, making the pastries here tasty and healthy. One popular exotic dish, La galette des roi, is made with hundreds of crispy layers and stuffed with private-recipe ingredient. This goes well with the Hawaiian Fruit Tea (NT$120), a combination of oranges, lemons, pineapples and kumquats, with a bright color that makes it a pleasure to look at as well. Strawberry Shaved Ice (NT120) and Tiramisu (NT$50), made with mascarpone cheese, are another good combination that offer romantic colors and a thick, milky, yet slightly strawberry-sour flavor. A drink with a bakery product only go for NT$150. Tasty set meals range from NT$99 to NT$170. Roasted Sauce Chicken Breast with Rice (NT$150) and Chill Sauce Gratin Chicken with Rice (NT$170) are top choices as well.
