After a long absence, one of America's most famous ice cream chains has returned to Taiwan. Recently opening its first Taipei store, Baskin-Robbins 31 Flavors Ice Cream almost immediately came to Taichung with not one but three locations. The first GongYi Road branch is located in the Capitan supermarket near HuaMei Street, with the other two branches on the first floor of Tiger City (next to Chili's) and 15th floor of SOGO Department Store. There are actually over 31 savory ice cream flavors available, with about a dozen all-new flavors introduced every three months. The creatively-named selection includes Caramel Apple Fondue, Can't Stop The Nuts, Kick Off Crunch, Pumpkin Pudding, Magical Mint Night, Box of Chocolates, Twinberry Cheesecake, and Mango Tango. Prices are NT$90 for a regular cone or cup, NT$105 for king cone/cup, and NT$150 for a double-scoop cone/cup (NT$110 for smaller scoops), plus the NT$65 kid's cone/cup or NT$110 Kid's Sundae. Other ice cream offerings include various Ice Cream Crepe Premium selections (NT$120) like Apple Pie & Vanilla, or Chocolate Banana Brownie and Chopped Chocolate; NT$125 Autumn Sundaes; Shakes (NT$130/small, NT$168/regular); and the Mocha, Matcha or Cappuccino "Blast" drinks (NT$105/NT$138). For take-out, there are ice cream sanwiches, hand-packed containers and multi-scoop Variety Packs.
