From the decor and Chinese name of this establishment, it's not difficult to deduce that it is a Japanese restaurant. Owner Mr. Chen used to run a Japanese food and lunchbox business and Hu Tian Wu combines characteristics from those two ventures along with his passion for baseball. Lunches here are a mixture of Japanese-style set meals and the local Taiwanese-style lunch box culture. There are 30 choices for freshly-made soups (NT$80), made with ingredients personally selected by Chen. Herbal Pork (NT$150) adapts bio-tech preparation methods and is the result of a joint venture between three universities. The pigs are fed with herbs to guarantee the quality and the texture of pork. Delicious Free Range Chicken, Crispy Fried Shrimp Curry Beef and other set-meal main entrees are served with patented baseball utensils. Besides set meals, special Japanese dishes can be ordered from the counter at dinnertime. The food is prepared by the owner, who has years of Japanese cooking experience, and the restaurant is already becoming a popular hang-out for baseball players and fans.
