Diners seeking the next level of fine Japanese
Kaiseki-style cuisine will want to head up to the third floor
of the new Windsor Hotel, where Restaurant Suntory is located.
Part of the Suntory Group (well-known for its beers and whiskies),
this establishment joins an exclusive 37-year-old global group
of nine restaurant, with sister restaurants in places like
Mexico City, Shanghai, Hawaii and Taipei. Veteran Japanese
chef Wada Yuichi prepares an interesting variety of lunch
and dinner options, starting with business lunches (NT$480-680)
and Special Lunch Box options--NT$530 Tempura, NT$580 Sashimi,
NT$680 Sukiyaki and so on. Much more exquisite set-course
meals come in five options ranging from NT$1,600 to NT$3,000.
Teppanyaki sets start at NT$1,800. The menu also features
a good selection of a la carte items, ranging from salads
and sashimi up to Broiled King Crab. As Restaurant Suntory
President Kotaro Suzuki stresses, Taiwan's many Japanese cuisine
lovers will appreciate the high standard of food-preparation
techniques here. The high-end dining areas include three private
rooms seating up to 18, plus two private teppanyaki rooms.
