Different from most streetside vendors that sell congee and other side dishes, 96 Congee and Side Dishes is spacious, bright and clean. The only problem is that there is such a great choice of delicious food that you won't know where to start. Five-star chefs are on hand 23 hours a day to make sure that a variety of dishes are on supply. Each time you come here, you will not only notice that the food is of hotel restaurant quality, but also that new dishes appear each time. Hygiene as well as food quality and freshness are important and customers will be able to find something to their liking at all times, from light vegetarian dishes to more traditional Taiwanese offerings. The owner recommends the very authentic Dong Po Meat, guaranteed to stir up your appetite. Prices here are very reasonable and the average bill per person is around NT$100. There is also free green bean soup and soybean milk available for your post-meal enjoyment. When the traffic flow is heavy or when it rains, the service staff here voluntarily helps direct traffic as you park and brings umbrellas out to welcome you in.
